So, we’ve decided to take up drinking, my dear hubby and I, and we’re trying many different wines. This page is just a place to make notes about which wines we like and which ones we should never like to subject ourselves to again. As a general note, I like reds very much and dear hubby likes sweet wines. We are both partial to fruity wines.

September 1, 2009: Today we tried Valenzano Winery in NJ’s Shamong Red. It was very nice with a strong taste of the concord grapes it was made from. It was good chilled even though it was a red.
I give it an 8; dear hubby gives it an 8.5

September 10, 2009: This week we had another Valenzano wine- Pinelands Blush. It was slightly fruity and very nice to sip. It was fine chilled, but I liked it better as it warmed up.
I give it 7.5; dear hubby gives it an 8

September 10, 2009: We also tried Valenzano Winery’s White Cranberry wine. We didn’t like this wine as well as the other Valenzano wines we have tried. It was light, presumably due to being made from under ripe cranberries, but it didn’t taste particularly fruity, instead seeming vaguely dusty.
I give it a 4.5; dear hubby gives it a 6

October 4, 2009:Our next wine was yet another from the same winery. The Valenzano Cranberry was not quite as disappointing as their white cranberry, but I didn’t find it much better. Instead of dusty, this wine was just overly tart for a fruit wine (Cranberry or not).
I give it a 5.3; dear hubby gives it a 6.
